Askari Monument Moshi

Sometimes in 2007 or was it 2008, I cant recall exactly, the Askari Monument at YMCA roundabout was removed from its pedestal, it was damaged while being taken down for apparent "repairs". The repacement statue which still stands has a lot of faults.
1. It has serious anthropometric dispropotionalites, that in a human would be counted as deformities, probably signaling some congenital, genetical, teratogenic or ontogenic disease.
2. The posture maintained by that statue is not normal human posture.
3. Painting a statue meant to stand in an open air pedestal in the east african sun is a folly, since it will and has palled in no time, statues arent painted.
In conclusion, it seems that there was some serious amateurism involved in the removal, making of a replacement and remounting of the second statue.

The second statue mounted at YMCA roundabout, painted in camouflage.

The original Askari Monument at YMCA and it damaged pedestal that resulted in the statue damage and replacement during the dismounting process.

The original statue resembled this one at Mashujaa Square, normal human proportions can be seen.
